About Shayna

I am deeply devoted to working with kids, specifically those with special needs, and I have many years of meaningful experience in childcare and education. I recognize this work as an opportunity to cultivate meaningful interpersonal relationships as a catalyst to fostering emotional and intellectual growth. I know this work to be deeply meaningful, challenging, and infinitely impactful. I have a lot of respect for the immense, often overlooked responsibility that comes with caring for a child. Responsibility over physical safety and supervision- but moreover, the responsibility that comes with playing such a fundamental role in fostering the mind, spirit and worldview of a developing individual. I remind myself often that the way I approach little moments every day has the potential to inform the way that a child understands and moves through this world long after I am gone, and I don't take it lightly when a family chooses to share this responsibility with me.
