About Shelby

I'd describe my personality as perceptive, bubbly, and wise. I like tutoring because I have 10 years of certified teaching experience under my belt and have much care and expertise to offer the children of our chaotic world. I love individualizing the methods I use for each child's strengths and needs and seeing them bloom. In my spare time, I like to do capoeira, sing, play instruments, and spend time in nature. One thing you should know about me is that I feel my purpose in this lifetime is to work with children and I absolutely love it. I come highly recommended by the families of my previous students. Building strong relationships is just as important to me as the academic progress I aim to foster. My skills include full understanding of the academic standards being that I was a teacher for 10 years, expertise and training in the best teaching practices for literacy and math, and a ton of experience working with diverse learners including gifted, adhd, autistic, and more.
