About Shelby

I've always been passionate about finding differences in every students learning styles. I believe the problem with our education now is the standards and techniques that we as teachers are forced to use with every student. We know students learn different ways but the education standards don't allow teachers to alter teaching methods when some students just don't get it. It's not the students fault, it's that our education system is focusing on student strength and trying different methods until it clicks. Being a good teacher means being flexible. It's not about you as a teacher, it's about student success and how to assess their needs. Every student CAN get to where they need to be with the right instructor for them. I worked as a TA and this is where I learned how much I disagree with the education standards. I'm determined to give students confidence again and make them realize it's not them, it's the system we're forced to use.
