Hi! I'm Sofia I have been an au pair for the past two years in this country and also have valuable childcare experience from my home country. I am infant-qualified and can provide excellent references from both families I have lived and worked with. Caring for children is something I truly enjoy. My responsibilities have included children's laundry, preparing healthy meals, cleaning up after them, and keeping their rooms organized. While I do not drive, I have my own transportation and love taking children for walks, outdoor play, and fun trips to the park. I am fluent in both English and Spanish, which often allows me to incorporate a bit of language learning into playtime. I would describe myself as calm, patient, responsible, and flexible. I am looking for a position where driving is not required, but where I can actively engage with the children through walks, creative play, and outdoor activities.

We had the pleasure of welcoming Sofi into our family to care for our three daughters (7,6, and 1) for over a year, and can highly recommend her as a nanny. She is patient, kind, and loving with the children in her care and seems to truly enjoy spending her time with them. It can be challenging balancing the needs and wants of children in different age ranges, but Sofi did a truly exceptional job of making sure our youngest daughter was included in play time while keeping our older daughters engaged as well. Sofi was always on time for work and in addition to playtime with the girls, she was responsible for washing bottles, changing diapers, tidying the children's rooms, doing laundry, starting potty training, helping with homework, and preparing meals for the girls. She always had a positive, can-do attitude when it came to managing these tasks, and had no problem taking the three of them to the park, to their various activities (soccer practice, swim lessons, piano lessons etc.), the pool to swim, and even flying/traveling together with our family. I can honestly say that my children love Sofi and she loves them right back. We were sad to see her relocate and move onto the next phase in her life, but we know she will make a wonderful addition to another family (and we are already planning a visit for her to return to Chicago to see the girls again soon) and wish her the best of luck!
