About Sonia Sofia

Hi! I'm a TK/Pre-K paraprofessional in Santa Monica with experience across K-12, including nonverbal autistic kids and other neurodivergent children with unique communication needs. I've worked as both a Paraprofessional and a Behavioral Interventionist and am trained in de-escalation, PBIS, data collection, and behavior support. My approach is regulation-based with gentle, individualized redirection. I focus on communication, sensory awareness, and emotional stability. I'm patient, consistent, and grounded with real early-childhood challenges--big feelings, limited vocabulary, nonverbal communication, running, hitting/throwing, or toileting accidents. My priority is always the child's comfort, safety, and dignity. While my specialty is neurodivergent children, I also work well with neurotypical kids who need structure, socialization, or emotional support.
