About Sophia

Hi! I'm Louie, the tutor who will help you attain your goals! If I've learned anything in school, it's that anyone can learn anything, given the right teacher, and enthusiasm. I graduated with a 4. 0 from the University of Illinois-Chicago, and went on to complete my Master's Degree in Medieval History at Harvard while working on my PhD. Although my degrees will tell you that I'm a historian, I wrote my award winning undergraduate thesis out of an evolutionary biology lab, and spent half of my research time coding in Python, designing my own databases and programs. Oh, and I also know six languages! I can help you develop the learning skills you need to make the world your oyster! Some of my favorite projects with students include working with elementary-age students who are tackling reading, writing, and math for the first time, as well as helping students craft creative, compelling essays for their college applications.
