About Sophia

Hi! I'm a certified teacher with a passion for helping kids grow into confident, capable learners. I have experience teaching students in kindergarten through third grade and specialize in building strong foundational skills in reading, writing, and math. I hold a B. A. in Elementary Education and a Master's in Reading Education. In my years as a classroom teacher I've worked with a diverse range of learners, including bilingual students and those with 504 plans and IEPs. I tailor my approach to meet each student's unique needs, and use research-based strategies to make learning clear, fun, and engaging. While my primary focus is early childhood education, I'm happy to support learners of all ages who may benefit from extra help in reading, writing, or math. Whether your child needs a boost in phonics, number sense, or just someone patient and supportive to work through challenges with them, I'm here to help!
