About Sophie

My 8+ years of career experience in the education field has fostered my passion for helping others learn--not just to pass a test, but to understand, grow, and feel confident in themselves. With a creative writing degree, I'm well-versed in tutoring all things reading and writing as well as science, math, history, and Spanish subjects. But the fun doesn't stop there! As an environmental educator, I'm also keen to support naturalist studies (eg bird identification) for explorative kids! I have plenty of experience with in-person and online tutoring, and I work with the family and student to tailor any session to meet individual needs. In terms of my style, I enjoy working one-on-one with students and, by meeting them on their level, we discover how they learn best together. I lead with compassion and patience, always aiming to inspire curiosity and new questions. I look forward to connecting with you soon!
