Hi I'm Sophie! I'm the child of two educators and believe deeply in the role caring adults play in young people's development. I've been a babysitter and nanny since I was 16, and love nothing more than developing relationships with children and families and making a tangible difference in their lives. I've worked with a wide range of ages, from newborn infants to middle schoolers, and appreciate the nuances, challenges, and wonders of every developmental stage. In addition to time with children, I've also helped families with cleaning, cooking, pet care, transportation, and general household management. Sophie has been babysitting for us for more than three years, starting after our fourth child was born. She is uniquely as skilled with infants as she is with big kids. Sophie has cared for each of our children separately and also regularly navigated meals and bedtime babysitting dates for all four-under-ten-years-old at once. Plus we come home to a tidy kitchen! Sophie is an absolute favorite and we will miss her as she moves out west. With your children, she can play chess or soccer, dance like nobody’s watching, craft with conventional material inside or make a crown with leaves in the backyard, recite memorized poetry, or whip up a tiramisu with your tween. She manages sibling conflict with unruffled authority, uses positive language, supports natural motor skill development … I cannot say enough. We love Sophie so much that we have even hired her to come with us on multiple family trips, internationally and domestically. We fully recommend Sophie to anyone looking for a highly engaged, caring connection with their babysitter.
