I have 15 years of experience in private tutoring as well as teaching classrooms of 20 students in SAT prep. Sophie is an outstanding tutor who goes above and beyond. Thanks to her, my kid aced their summer college course in statistics. Taking place over a highly compressed five weeks, the course was 100% asynchronous, with 90% of the grade based on test scores. Sophie brought a much-needed human element to the experience. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, my kid was able to take the course in stride and maintain the necessary pace. Sophie has classroom experience, and it really shows. It’s one thing to have superb subject matter expertise, it’s another thing to translate that into effective teaching that draws on patience, kindness, empathy, and emotional intelligence.
