Hi, I worked as a homemaker and companion many years ago while in college. I worked in a skilled nursing facility for a year as a speech language pathologist. I have experience working with people who have dementia and who have had strokes (lots of language needs and memory work). I do not have a strong knowledge of swallowing disorders. Both of my grandmothers passed away at age 99 and I spent a lot of time with both of them. My maternal grandmother had Alzheimer's. I currently have parents who are 87 years old, so I understand the daily challenges of being elderly and would love to be a support for others in need of companionship, errands, meal prep, medication monitoring and/speech-language needs.
