Experience: 10 yrs
I am an experienced and dedicated childcare professional with nearly 30 years of expertise in nurturing children of diverse ages. My journey began at the age of 12 while babysitting for family and neighbors; I am now 44 years old. Throughout my career, I have provided care for children with special needs, including those with cerebral palsy, autism, hearing impairments, and blindness. My professional background encompasses roles in daycares, preschools, school events, church nurseries, and private home settings. I have a genuine passion for supporting children's growth and development. As a mother, I fully understand the significance of having a trustworthy and responsible caregiver for your children. I am certified in CPR, fully vaccinated, and boosted. It would be a privilege to offer my services to your family, and you can trust that I will care for your loved ones with the utmost respect and dedication.
Susie is kind and friendly. She very much cares about germs, washing hands, wearing a mask, things like that. However there are some reviews about her being a flake, which is unfortunately true. She was 40 minutes late for the video interview and on the day she was supposed to come over and meet my husband she didn’t tell me couldn’t make it until an hour before. Granted she was sick but even a “regular” job you have to give two hours notice when you’re not coming in. Is not quick to respond to texts. She does seem to be a bit stuck in her ways with what works for her vs. what works for the baby. Every baby is different. Despite my giving written, verbal, and video recorded instruction of my baby’s sleepy cues, how she needs to be put down for a nap, what time she needs to be put down, etc. Susie didn’t follow my guidelines which led to my three month old baby crying for hours and exhausting herself to sleep for two days in a row. Absolutely devastating when you are back at work and there’s nothing you can do to help your baby from afar. When I mentioned it to her again, “these are the sleepy cues and this is how we do it…” her response was very snippy, “well I’m not aware of her cues and I would have to watch how you put her down”. I can’t imagine a Mother who would leave their three month old baby with a nanny and not give all the information needed to ensure their baby is well taken care of, including their nap routine. Granted they were two people just meeting each other so I didn’t expect it to go perfectly, but it really seemed like Susie just had her own idea of how it should go and didn’t implement the very specific steps I voiced we needed for our baby. Susie is a nice person with a lot of experience but perhaps that’s at the detriment of being able to adapt to someone else’s way of doing things.
