About Torrey

Hello! My name is Torrey and I'm a PhD student in Molecular Biology at the University of Washington and Fred Hutch. Alongside my academic work, I have a deep passion for eco-psychology and helping kids build healthy, balanced lives. I believe children thrive when they spend more time outdoors and less time on screens. Whether it's biking, hiking, exploring local parks, or simply playing outside, I love creating opportunities for kids to connect with nature, stay active, and spark their curiosity. I bring a strong background in childcare through my work as a YMCA camp counselor, babysitter, and pet caregiver. I've also completed coursework in infant and child development, giving me a solid foundation for supporting kids at different stages. I'm reliable, engaged, and dedicated to fostering an environment where kids feel both supported and inspired. My goal is to help families not only with safe and nurturing care, but also with activities that promote creativity, resilience, and joy.
