About Valerie

Hello! My name is Val and I am a dependable, creative, and collaborative caregiver with over 15 years experience. I'm currently a part-time student and am seeking up to 30 hours/week beginning in September. I received my Masters in Teaching in 2016 from the University of Puget Sound. I worked as a 2nd and 4th grade teacher for a few years and later trained as a Behavior Technician. Both roles provided valuable experience supporting neurodiverse kids inside and outside the classroom. Prior to my career in education, I worked with families with multiple children ages 18 months-12 years, have been a sports camp counselor, and also coached varsity basketball at a local high school. I am passionate about centering relationship building, social emotional learning and regulation, creative expression, nature, and movement with the kids I get to work with. I'm also very experienced with providing dog, cat, and some small animal care.
