About Vanessa

Hi! I am a tutor, writing coach, and rising 4th year MIT student studying Comparative Media Studies and Physics. I have several years of experience working with children and adults in all subjects, but I have a particular love for teaching writing, English, public speaking, and all levels of pre-college math & science. Since 2016, I have worked/volunteered as a tutor in various capacities, including for individual families and larger organizations. While I draw from my own diverse educational background & roots in math-circle-style learning, creative writing, and philosophy, figuring out how YOU work best is paramount. My goal is to always leave my clients with a combination of precise instruction, organizational skills, real-world contextualization of subject material, & broader conceptual takeaways to ruminate on after each session.
