About Violet

Hi, I'm Violet! I love helping young learners discover the joy of reading and watching their confidence grow as they master new skills. With 10 years of experience as a special education teacher, I've supported students with a variety of needs including those with autism, specific learning disabilities, ADHD, and more. I hold a B. A. in Liberal Studies, a M. A. in Teaching, and a Mild/Mod Education Specialist credential. Fascinated by how the brain learns to read, I've completed several reading courses and received training in the Orton-Gillingham approach. This structured, multisensory method has helped me support students of all abilities, including those with dyslexia. Teaching a child to read is truly my passion, and I strive to create a warm, supportive environment where every child feels capable and excited to learn.
