About Whitney

I have been working with children for 17 years now and am very passionate about doing so. I'm a former 4th/5th grade teacher, currently opening my own learning center. I've been nannying children of all ages in NYC for the past 4 years. The school I used to teach at was Title I and had a high population of ELL students, so I'm very skilled with special needs, diverse learners, and language barriers. I graduated from Salisbury University in 2010 with dual teaching degrees in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I have had quite a few jobs with special needs children, including Behavior Therapy with a 12-year-old with autism, a special education assistant (working one-on-one with a child with Autism), and a nanny for a 1-year-old foster child with Down Syndrome. I'm very responsible, punctual, and hard-working! I have a lot of availability as I'm opening up my learning center, and would love to babysit for your a one-time date night, or a repetitive weekly gig!

Hands down, the best babysitter I have ever hired. She came to our beach house to watch 5 kids all under the age of 6 so we could attend a wedding. She was not only great with the kids, but when we got home all 5 kids were bathed and sleeping. The toys were putted away, the house was organized and clean. Whitney kept communicating with us during the whole time we were at the wedding. Always very prompt to respond. I wished I lived closer to her so I could hire her all the time. If you are looking for a babysitter, she is it!
