I began studying piano around the age of 5. Singing was a normal part of our household,, so I fell in love with harmonies at a very young age. Other instruments that I've studied are piano, flute and some percussion; the flute piano became my focus besides singing. With piano and flute, I have played in my high school jazz band, various pit bands for music theater, and in some Nashville, TN recording studios. Vocally, I have recorded with several groups and bands, did demo work for several songwriters, and have sung both lead and back-up in several bands including: cover bands, contemporary gospel groups, family groups, church bands/praise teams, and choirs. I hold an Associates Degree in Music-vocal concentration and have performed in various venues here in the States as well as in Paris, France. I am very experienced in both vocal and instrumental performance and have a passion for spreading the love of music to others. In addition, I have done some research into music therapy, but I am NOT a licensed music therapist. I truly believe in the power of music to help in many different ways in and out of a school setting. I am currently teaching privately and would love to assist others on their musical journeys!
