PE 101 is a 90-minute class where students explore multiple sports in a fun, encouraging learning environment. This program is designed to keep students ACTIVE while they learn the basics of athletics and team sports. Footsteps Child Care, in partnership with the City of Belmont Parks and Recreation, is excited to offer nine weeks of summer camp designed specifically for older children and youth entering fourth grade through middle school. This summer, we are thrilled to feature specialized classes provided by Lando, including Advanced LEGO Robotics and Clay Studio Lab. Field Trip: Great America, Santa Clara Special Event: Junior Camp Counselors at Nesbit Farmers Marker & Tasting Day Every day brings something new to discover, learn, and explore—making camp an unforgettable adventure! MONDAY kicks off the week with team-building activities that help campers connect and collaborate, plus Advanced LEGO Robotics (10am-12pm), where they will choose a robotics challenge, plan their build, and test it with real data. Using LEGO® bricks and Technic components (beams, axles, gears, motors, and sensors), they will tune for speed, lift, or control, log test results, and present how each modification improved their design. In the afternoon campers can participate in a group cooking project. TUESDAY features morning hikes through local trails followed by recreational swimming at the Carlmont High School pool. WEDNESDAY is field trip day, with exciting excursions designed for adventure and exploration. Campers will experience thrilling attractions, water activities, outdoor adventures, and even an overnight camping experience! Each trip offers opportunities to build friendships, try new activities, and create unforgettable summer memories. THURSDAY offers flexible morning time for activities and games, along with a trip to the Belmont Library, followed by recreational swim time in the afternoon. FRIDAY wraps up each week with special events, community service projects, or Counselors-In-Training opportunities. From 2pm to 4pm, campers can also join Clay Studio Lab, where they will create gallery-ready, multi-module scenes using internal armatures, balanced bases, and clean joins. This summer at Ocean Explorers Camp, our youngest learners are invited to embark on a magical journey where the ocean comes to life through playful activities and hands on adventures. Picture this: Little ones nestled in our Marine Science Lab, surrounded by real live fish and captivating tales of the ocean. Story time becomes an immersive experience as our young adventurers delve into the mysteries of marine life. We will unleash creativity with magical ocean themed crafts! From crafting sea creature masterpieces to designing underwater wonders, we will bring the magic of the ocean to life through artistic expressions. We will also participate in ocean themed sensory activities that spark curiosity and wonder. We hope to foster a love for the Ocean and all of it's creatures. This camp is for incoming junior kindergarten, transitional kindergarten or kindergarten campers. We strive to provide a fun, nurturing and safe learning environment for our youngest campers. Our staff ratio is 8:1 with a maximum of 24 campers per week. All of the camps come together for lunch, recess breaks, and special events. We will explore the wonders of the marine environment and celebrate habitats and life of the ocean, and our shores.
