About Abby

My name is Abby, and I was first grade classroom teacher for 4 years (Yes - I love to teach Reading/Phonics!). In the past few years, I have transitioned to teaching privately; I have recently privately tutored/taught students in Kindergarten through 10th Grade. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Elementary and Special Education from the University of Florida. My objective is to foster autonomous and inquisitive life-long learners who feel empowered to achieve and who utilize a growth mindset My ultimate goal is to encourage a love of learning in my students and for every one of my students to have opportunities to succeed, building their self-efficacy beliefs. I love to teach through song, dancing/exercise, memorization techniques, and hands-on learning and practice.
