About Alexis

Hello, families and elders! My name is Alexis, a 34-year-old female who has had the recent joy of newly landing into the Black Mountain area with my partner while we set about getting to know some folks in the area and settle in. Over the last 20 years, I have developed a set of skills and myriad of experiences that all support my greatest passion: caring for people, young & old, in any way that is most supportive to them as an individual as well as to the family unit. I believe we are all connected, and that kindness and compassion, even in the smallest acts of care, make this world a more bearable and beautiful place to live in. I love and revel in the fact that I've made a livelihood of care, not just for humans, but also for animals (dogs, cats, horses, llamas, donkeys, & sheep) and plants. I have a background in Alzheimer's, dementia, Montessori & Waldorf teaching, trauma, social work, personal assistant work, house cleaning, cooking, and gardening.
