About Donna

My background includes a long teaching career in a variety of settings. I taught English in High School. When I first retired, I volunteered as a teacher at the 'One Darn Cool School' at Phoenix Children's Hospital for 7 years. As well, I was a substitute teacher and prepared curriculum in English Literature, European History and various other courses for grades 1 through high school. I have published short stories and essays on education. • Presently I am interested in helping the younger students, grades K to 2, gain a good foundation in reading. I focus on vocabulary fluency and comprehension. • I teach introductory Hebrew, with an emphasis on recognizing Hebrew letters as picture letters for easier retention. • while teaching high school, I devised a typing course to help students more quickly key in their reports • I teach piano and enjoy introducing this instrument I keep my students challenged & interested.
