I like tutoring because I love to teach, and love to learn. I believe that a good tutor doesn't just give answers to problems, but asks the students questions to test how well the concept is understood. I'm looking for a job where I can help the student no longer need my services. The analogy I like is that I imagine tutoring as learning how to swim: the tutor is a pool float, and the student is the swimmer. Once the student is comfortable enough to swim on their own, the float is no longer needed. Of course, if the water gets too rough again, then the float can be utilized again. I started tutoring when I was in high school, and helped mainly friends with math and chemistry homework. It was here that I learned to love teaching other because I get happy when concepts "click"
