About Jessica

I'd describe my personality as genuine, thoughtful, and engaging. I like tutoring because after years of teaching I have found that students learn best when their individual needs and learning styles are being prioritized. I'm interested in working with students in grades 6-12 to improve their writing, reading and organizational skills, and hopefully decrease any academic anxiety along the way. I started tutoring for extra income when I was a full-time teacher, as early as 2006. In my spare time, I like to cook, garden, and spend time with friends. One thing you should know about me is that I have experience teaching all levels of language arts, from basic to Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate. My top three skills are essay organization and development, literary analysis, and building academic confidence.
