About Kathy

I am a very successful teacher of special needs children. My areas of expertise include teaching deaf, and hard of hearing children; teaching children who learn differently; and teaching children on the autism spectrum. I have taught public school special education preschool through grade 5 over the years. Teaching children who learn differently is a love of mine and I am highly successful with struggling readers and writers. I use an eclectic approach, and find the way that the child learns best. I use games and have many fun "tricks" to help challenged children. The goal is to teach the academic skill in a way that promotes confidence and takes away discouragement. I am part cheerleader.!
