About Krista

I'm Krista, a local tutor with 25 years of certified teaching and reading interventionist experience. I offer support for: - Early reading using the Orton-Gillingham method (especially helpful for dyslexia and struggling readers) - High school Spanish- supporting all levels in conversation, homework, test prep - Dual language learners- support for bilingual students in Spanish/English programs I've always worked as a full-time teacher, so this is my first venture into tutoring outside of the public schools. I was trained in the Orton-Gillingham method and fell in love with teaching early reading in a systematic way. I've put that training to use as an interventionist at an OG summer reading program for the last two years. My passion for dual language programs and teaching Spanish comes from living in Mexico for a number of years and spending most of my career teaching in dual language programs.
