About Lisa

For the past 25 years, I've been teaching students with special needs in grade 6-8. With a graduate degree and as a certified Special Education teacher I have taught and developed IEP's for students that have mild to moderate disabilities. I create engaging, supportive, and patient learning environments where students thrive. I specialize in Math and English at the middle school level, but also have experience with executive functioning assistance. My approach is to personalize my teaching through visual aids, hands-on activities, discussions, and practice problems. Open communication is key. I provide regular updates to parents and encourage feedback from my students. I celebrate small successes and break down complex problems. Seeing a student's confidence grow as they master new skills is the most rewarding part of my work. I have a car, am comfortable with pets, and would love to help your student succeed!
