About Mary Beth

I'd describe my personality as caring and enthusiastic. I enjoy tutoring because I'm able to help students build not only their skills, but the confidence it takes to accomplish them. I delight in seeing students reach their goals on their own. I'm looking for a job that will be helpful to each student. There is nothing as rewarding as being able to say that a student no longer needs my help:) I started tutoring when I was in college, over 30 years ago. I enjoy reading books, walking and playing pickleball. I'm upbeat and animated. I teach curriculum to students on their level and in a positive and enjoyable way that coincides with their interests. My skills include confidence building, which leads to students wanting to try new and/or harder curriculum. I also use materials that meet the students on their level. These materials are of high interests, yet lower levels. Finally, I present subjects in an enjoyable way that includes the participation of the student.
