About Mary

I'm a former classroom teacher, long time tutor with a specialty in dyslexia intervention. I work with both elementary and secondary level students. I love what I do because I'm changing lives in real time. It's the most amazing gift. I watch families heal after long struggles with IEPs and traumatizing academic challenges. I'm so proud of my students and what I can help them overcome. One thing you should know about me is I am known for my legendary patience and gentle guidance of even the most frustrated emergent reader and scholar. I also assist parents in creating techniques to better work with their child while facing daunting reading requirements and homework challenges. My skills include Orton-Gillingham based dyslexia intervention, "new" math, and academic writing. I also do test prep for private school admissions and scholarship applications, including high school level.
