For 25+ years I provided care, developed and oversaw programs for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities and survivors of TBI. I was a Red Cross certified CPR/1st Aid instructor, certified in administering medications, and trained staff. I would describe my personality as friendly, kind, and caring. I enjoy getting to know people hearing their stories. I have gotten to know some pretty amazing folks. I am quiet person but enjoy conversation. I am gentle and patient with those that I provide care. I understand how difficult it is to have someone in your home and the feeling of loss when you need support in daily tasks. I strive to be respectful. It can be so difficult for family members that care for their parents and loved ones. It often takes away from the more meaningful time that you'd like to spend with them. Rachel has been a gift to our family. First she cared for my father during late stage Alzheimer's, when he had lost most skills and was incontinent. She is kind, calm and very competent with a lot of experience. Now she cares for my mother, whose mind is sharp but has mobility issues. She is a wonderful assistant and companion, taking initiative to find ways to help. My mother enjoys her company so much! We are all very grateful for Rachel.
