I know that finding qualified, dependable care for family members is both of utmost importance. For 25+ years I provided care, developed and oversaw programs for folks with developmental and intellectual disabilities and survivors of TBI. I was a Red Cross certified CPR/1st Aid instructor, trained in lifts/transfers, certified in medication admin. I oversaw an agency's training department as well as quality assurance. Aging and losing independence can be emotionally devastating and having a new person in their life, to share these things with, can be a boost to someone's emotional state. However, having a new person in their home is a big adjustment and I do my best to be sensitive about being in their space. I'd describe my personality as friendly, kind, and easy going.
