Thomasi cared for my dad during his time in hospice, and our family truly cannot say enough good things about him. He is an exceptional caregiver—both in skill and in heart. From a clinical standpoint, Thomasi is incredibly capable. He was especially skilled with transfers, which gave us so much peace of mind. My dad was a large man and very particular about who he trusted to handle him, but he felt completely safe with Thomasi. He always explained what he was doing and why, and approached every interaction with care, respect, and professionalism. What really set Thomasi apart was how deeply he understood comfort at the end of life. He honored what mattered to my dad—even allowing him to continue smoking in the home because he knew it brought him peace. He also went above and beyond in ways that meant so much to us, like giving my dad massages and helping with range of motion when my dad requested it several days in a row. Those moments of comfort were priceless. Thomasi was also an incredible communicator. He consistently updated us on Caring Village at the end of every shift, sharing vitals, mood, and any changes so we always knew how our dad was doing. In my dad’s final days, he identified a possible infection and coordinated with the RN team to ensure my dad remained comfortable. He advocated for his pain management and made sure we were informed every step of the way. He also gently prepared us for what to expect at the end, which made an incredibly difficult time just a little less overwhelming. Beyond his skills, Thomasi’s presence is something special. He has a calm, steady, grounding energy that immediately puts you at ease. He’s warm, down to earth, and genuinely caring—not just toward his patient, but toward the entire family. In our dad’s final days, he gave us the space we needed to say goodbye while still being there whenever we needed him. He often stayed late or took calls after hours just to make sure we were okay. He even went beyond traditional caregiving—helping with things like cleaning and small tasks around the home—which meant a lot to my dad, who valued a clean and well-kept space. That level of thoughtfulness did not go unnoticed. My dad didn’t take to many people, especially toward the end, but he truly liked and trusted Thomasi—even during periods of terminal agitation. That alone says everything. My sister and I only wish we had found him sooner. Thomasi is a rare kind of caregiver, and any family would be incredibly lucky to have him.
