I don't think I have ever made a better investment in any of my grandchildren than the voice lessons he had with Mikkeal. I was amazed at his progress, especially in light of the short attention span element found often in a child who is nine years of age. The money was so well spent that I am going to continue with the voice lessons for Matthew. I would recommend Michael and Taylor Robinson Music to anyone who is looking for a successful avenue to promote the musical talent of any given child. As a grandmother, I was extremely satisfied and proud of Matthew's progress. Name: Date: 2016-02-13 15:27:16 Title: Review from Adam S. Body: Awesome! Name: Juan T. Reuben's Music Lessons (Guitar, Song Writing)

    by Taylor Robinson Music

    Largo, FL

Years of Experience: 26 Location Options: In Studio, In Webcam Travel Radius: 5 Genres: Rock, Blues, Acoustic, RB, Pop, Metal, Funk, Reggae Age Groups: Children, Young Adult, Adult Instruments Taught: Guitar Lessons,Song Writing Lessons Overview: Originally from New Orleans, LA, I began playing guitar at age 7 and by 10 was performing in neighborhood garage bands. At age 12, I began private instruction with Atlantic Recording artist Randy Jackson of the band “Zebra”. From there, I taught local children in my mother’s living room. Initially, I had two students and within 3 months had 10-20. In 1987, my band “Fahrenheit” opened and toured with such bands as Zebra, Quiet Riot, Ratt, Cheap Trick, Heart, and Boston. Fahrenheit was a top drawing regional act and was signed with Atlantic records for a short time. Fahrenheit played hundreds of shows across the country before disbanding in 1991. In 1991, I was accepted to MIT and graduated a year later. After which, I was asked to continue as an instructor for MIT in their “Summer Session” program and did so for three years. These classes consisted of upwards of 20-40 students. While at MIT, I was fortunate to learn from and play with such great artists as Eddie Van Halen, Vernon Reid, Alan Holdsworth, Prince, Paul Gilbert, George Lynch, Neal Schon, Steve Lukather, Jimmy Page, Steve Morse and Nile Rogers among others. While in LA I also worked on numerous studio projects. In 1994, I began giving private lessons from my home in New Orleans and within a few weeks accumulated more students than I thought I could properly teach. So to ensure quality instruction, I limited myself to 30 students. Some of my students have gone on to tour with bands such as Lillian Axe, Quiet Riot, Don Dokken and Bullet Boys. 2004 - I was chosen by Guitar Player magazine to record six songs on a Van Halen tribute CD released by Metal Blade records. I have designed my own instruction program. I begin with the basic guitar fundamentals and depending on the student’s ability we can eventually move onto advanced theory, concepts and technique. My preference is to teach beginner to intermediate students “rock” guitar ( Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, Jimmy Page, Steve Vai, etc). It’s my preferred music style and I’ve found that most beginning students enjoy learning it. I keep my lessons fun, interesting and flexible to the individual wants and desires of the student. However, I do stress accountability and commitment. Presently I perform 2-33 times a week, both acoustic and full electric with my band, "Luna Blue. This will give my students the opportunity to watch me perform live and know that “I practice what I preach”. I love performing and teaching music. There is nothing more gratifying than to watch a beginner student progress to become a more serious, knowledgeable “musician”. Formal Education: Music Degree, Louisiana State University, 1987Graduate of Musicians Institute of Technology, 1992GIT Instructor-1 Private Education: I studies with a private tutor for over ten years Performing Experience: I have over 20 years of touring and live experience. Experience Teaching: Private instruction since 1985 on and off. Formal instruction-Guitarist Institute of Tech. Hollywood Ca -Education- Degree: BA Music School: Louisiana State Univ (Geaux Tigers!)

    Sharon's Music Lessons (Orchestral, Piano)

    by Taylor Robinson Music

    Lakeland, FL

Years of Experience: 20+ Location Options: In Studio Travel Radius: 0 Genres: Classical, Christian Age Groups: Under 6 Years Instruments Taught: Keyboard and Piano Lessons,Orchestral Lessons Overview: I am a happily-married minister and mother of three who has enjoyed a lifetime of receiving and giving music instruction. Private Education: Constantly learning everything I can about the Piano and Strings, my initial music education consists of private Piano lessons (with Mrs. Dalia Alcala-Galiano in New Jersey for many years) and Violin lessons (with Mrs. Dorothea Baxter from the Imperial Symphony Orchestra in Lakeland, Florida) as well. I then engaged in intensive Viola and Cello instruction autonomously which was enhanced greatly by my background in the Piano and Violin. Performing Experience: I exercise my gifts of music on a daily/weekly basis at the Ministry Center Jesus Church (our ministry outreach to the community) as well as other churches in the Lakeland Area. Experience Teaching: I have been teaching Piano in my home studio at beginning to intermediate levels for 17 years. Our eldest son Alvaro went on to be accepted at Harrison School of the Arts here in Lakeland in the Piano Department (and has been a Taylor Robinson Instructor). Thankfully, I have been sought out as an educator by parents in the community because of my unique gifting to teach children of all abilities, but especially those with special needs like autism and other related disabilities. Learning the Piano works as an advanced type of occupational therapy. Because each student learns differently, I use many different teaching strategies to work with different types of learners. My teaching is best suited for beginners to early-intermediate learners, but as time progresses, we can also work towards being an accompanist, which can command a good salary. In addition, I have been teaching the Violin since 2008, the Viola since 2010, and the Cello since 2012. I use my own adaptations of different curriculae and sheet music to create a comprehensive system of learning that moves sequentially for quick progress for the student. -Education- Degree: n/a -Awards- Name:n/a -Reviews- Name: Mrs. Rodríguez Date: 2018-10-12 17:26:10 Title: Excellent Teacher Body: Mrs. Sharon is an excellent teacher. She knows how to make my daughter play the piano better and is working to get this goal. Very professional and sweet. Name: Stacie Date: 2020-12-31 11:21:17 Title: Excellent Investment Body: My son and I are learning to read music and play the piano. Our instructor is outstanding. She is encouraging and goes the extra mile to keep us challenged. Even when we are progressing at a difference pace, she will ensure we each have appropriate songs to practice during the week to keep us on track. She is organized and has a great teaching method and is always willing to answer our questions.

I range from jazz, funk, rock, hip-hop, trap, rb, fusion, pop, blues, latin (afro-cuban,brazilian,etc), drum n bass, neo-soul, indie, metal. I think you get the point. I'm a music aficionado. Therefore, if you're interested in taking your playing past a plateau we can achieve it together. Formal Education: I find myself still learning every day from every person I counter. I learn by teaching and I teach by learning. Private Education: I was accepted at Berklee College of Music but I didn't attend due to the cost so I continued to excel at my craft here. Performing Experience: I have played drums in live settings with audiences of all different demographics for the past 15 years. Experience Teaching: I have helped many individuals reach their drumming goals over the past years. It is the most rewarding thing to see a person progress in something they like and to know I provided my help and knowledge in doing so. I have a systematic approach to my syllabus designed to focus on areas in drumming which could use improvement while strengthening already developed areas.
